Just One Day by Gayle Forman

Title: Just One Day (Just One Day #1)
Author: Gayle Forman

368 pages, January 8th 2013, Dutton Juvenile
Contemporary Romance
Goodreads' synopsis: "When sheltered American good girl Allyson "LuLu" Healey first meets laid-back Dutch actor Willem De Ruiter at an underground performance of Twelfth Night in England, there’s an undeniable spark. After just one day together, that spark bursts into a flame, or so it seems to Allyson, until the following morning, when she wakes up after a whirlwind day in Paris to discover that Willem has left. Over the next year, Allyson embarks on a journey to come to terms with the narrow confines of her life, and through Shakespeare, travel, and a quest for her almost-true-love, to break free of those confines."
I really like Gayle Forman's writing. And though I didn't cry as much reading this book as I did reading If I Stay, it was still a cute and nice read. I love Forman's ability to make the reader feel like they are part of the story. I felt like I was in Paris right with them.
Willem was a super interesting character. Definitely unique. Allyson was just average, but changed a lot throughout the book, due to meeting Willem.
The first chapter gives a perfect idea of what kind of person each character is, and what kind of story it was going to be. And after reading the first chapter I knew I was going to love it.
Only bad thing: when they are walking around Paris, they meet these Danish people on a boat, and I immediately got super excited (it's not often you read about Danes in and American book), but then apparently Willem understands what they are saying, when they speak Danish, and tells Lulu that Dutch and Danish is very similar ... And I just went like: no. nonononono. Because that is not true. Dutch is related to German and English, neither of which is similar to Danish. I just needed to point that out there. <-- And this is really not that big of a deal, hah.
Did I mention that they go to Paris?! Loved it!
